What You’ll Be Doing
Assisting electricians in the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of solar PV, battery storage, and electrical systems.
Running and securing cable trays, trunking, SWA, and CAT5e cables.
Working with LV AC and DC electrical systems under supervision.
Supporting testing and inspection processes to ensure compliance with regulations.
Following health & safety protocols on-site at all times.
Learning new skills and progressing toward becoming a fully qualified solar electrician.
Working as part of a team to deliver high-quality installations on time and to specification.
This role involves UK-wide travel, including overnight stays, all fully compensated.
What We’re Looking For
Level 2 or 3 Electrical Qualification (or working towards it).
Basic knowledge of cable installation (tray, trunking, SWA, CAT5e).
Enthusiasm for the renewable energy sector and willingness to learn.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to work safely and follow instructions on-site.
Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.

As part of our expanding design team, we are seeking a skilled HV Designer with expertise in high-voltage (HV) electrical design for solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Role Overview
As an HV Designer, you will be responsible for the design and engineering of HV electrical infrastructure for commercial solar PV and battery storage installations. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and DNOs to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant HV designs, integrating renewable energy assets into the UK power grid.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop HV electrical infrastructure for large-scale solar PV and battery storage projects.
Prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs), protection schemes, and HV substation layouts.
Conduct load flow, fault level, and grid compliance studies to ensure system efficiency and reliability.
Liaise with DNOs, National Grid, and regulatory bodies to ensure grid connection compliance.
Support project teams with technical expertise on HV design, installation, and commissioning.
Ensure all designs comply with UK regulations, including G99/Grid Code, BS7671, and IEC standards.
Work closely with procurement teams to specify HV switchgear, transformers, and protection equipment.
Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases.
Stay up to date with industry standards, emerging technologies, and HV best practices.
What We’re Looking For
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline (HND/HNC with relevant experience considered).
2+ years of experience in HV electrical design, preferably within solar PV, battery storage, or grid-connected renewable energy projects.
Strong knowledge of HV switchgear, protection systems, and substation design.
Experience working with DNOs and National Grid on grid connection agreements.
Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., ETAP, Amtech, DIgSILENT, AutoCAD or similar).
Understanding of UK grid codes, G99 regulations, and HV protection coordination
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
